American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Community Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications and an active VA or compact RN license.

Work in a Community Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patient populations
-
13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Floating may be requested based on facility needs
-
Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias
-
Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
-
Administers emergency medications and performs IV therapy/phlebotomy
-
Active RN license (VA state or compact) required in hand
-
Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS through the American Heart Association (AHA)
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic charting experience required with no exceptions
-
Specialty experience within the last year required
-
Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
-
Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
-
Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced community ED setting

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Previous permanent employees must have a gap of at least 6 months before returning as a travel employee

Requested time off should be minimal, with no full calendar weeks off preferred and no more than 7 days total during the assignment

All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial application and cannot be added after an offer is extended

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
