Job Summary
We’re hiring a dependable Line Cook to run our seafood cook line/steamer station. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking seafood items (especially steamed products), keeping ticket times moving, and maintaining excellent food quality and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare seafood menu items including steamed crabs, shrimp, crawfish, clams, mussels, lobster, and more
- Operate steamers/boilers safely and consistently (cook times, temps, batch quality)
- Accurately portion, season, and sauce seafood according to house standards
- Maintain fast ticket times during rushes while keeping quality consistent
- Complete station setup and breakdown (steam baskets, pans, burners, hot holding, sauces)
- Prep items as needed: shrimp peeling/deveining, sides, sauces, slaws, potatoes/corn, etc.
- Follow strict food safety procedures (temps, storage, cross-contamination prevention)
- Keep cook line clean and organized throughout shift
- Clean and sanitize equipment daily (steamers, baskets, drains, prep areas)
- Rotate inventory using FIFO, label/date products, reduce waste
- Communicate with kitchen team and FOH for timing on large orders and catering trays
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed (restocking, dishes, trash runs)
Requirements
- Kitchen experience preferred (seafood/steaming experience a plus, but we will train the right person)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 40–50 lbs, and work around heat/steam
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Must follow hygiene standards (clean uniform, safe food handling, etc.)
- Must be available for weekends and peak business hours
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
