American Traveler is hiring a Charge RN for a Nights ED position requiring 3+ years of ED experience, prior charge and travel experience, and an active WA or compact RN license.

Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital setting
-
General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
-
Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke Certified designations
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
13-week assignment on a Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
-
Weekend rotation of every other or every third weekend depending on unit need
-
Floating within the hospital may be required based on patient care needs

Uses Epic EMR system
-
Active Washington (WA) or compact RN license required in hand
-
Minimum 5 years of RN experience required
-
Minimum 3+ years of Emergency Department experience required

Prior Charge RN experience in the ED required

Previous travel nursing experience in the ED specialty required

Required certifications: ACLS and BLS in hand

Preferred certifications: NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC

Epic charting experience required

Preferred Trauma Level II experience

Skills in trauma, cardiac monitoring, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergency care

Serve as Charge RN overseeing ED operations during night shifts
-
Provide emergency care across pediatric, adult, trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric patient populations
-
Perform triage, isolation precautions/PPE protocols, and manage multisystem organ dysfunction cases
-
Complete required orientation modules, typically taking 8-12 hours, signed off by facility managers
-
Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted per assignment with no exceptions and no blocked scheduling requests
-
All time off requests must be disclosed prior to assignment start and cannot be modified afterward
-
Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers

Travel pairs accepted for this assignment

Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being eligible for rehire as a traveler
