Job Overview
Gustovans and Overland is a small, fast-moving shop that designs and builds custom camper vans and overland vehicles. We're looking for a CNC Technician / CAD Design & Accessory Installer to join our team and work hands-on across every stage of the build — from CAD design and CNC fabrication to installing the finished and aftermarket components on real vehicles. This is a great fit for someone who likes variety, wants to grow their skills across multiple trades, and takes pride in doing quality work independently.
Duties
- Operate CNC router and CNC laser cutter, and 3D printers, to fabricate custom parts and accessories for vehicle builds
- Design and modify components using Fusion 360 (or similar CAD/CAM software), turning concepts into prototypes and build-ready parts
- Install finished and aftermarket accessories and components directly onto customer vehicles, including camper/overland-specific builds
- Assist with related build tasks as needed: 12V/24V/48V/120V electrical, plumbing, cabinetmaking, and upholstery work
- Read, create and interpret basic drawings/plans to accurately produce and install parts
- Maintain a clean, organized, safety-conscious shop environment
- Work independently once trained, taking ownership of assigned projects
Skills
- Experience with Fusion 360 or other CAD/CAM software strongly preferred
- Experience operating CNC routers, laser cutters, or 3D printers a plus
- Hands-on trade background in any of: electrical, plumbing, cabinetmaking, upholstery, or automotive accessory installation
- Comfortable learning new tools and skills quickly — we'll train you, but you need to pick things up fast
- Punctual, reliable, and courteous — non-negotiable for our small team
- Able to work independently after an initial training period
- Ability to figure things out when drawings, plans or instructions are not available
Join our team if you like hands-on, varied work, want to build real skills across CAD, CNC, and vehicle customization, and take pride in doing things right.
