School Counselor Start Date: September 1, 2026 Using the ASCA standards, responsibilities include: Implement a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate school counseling program addressing the academic, social-emotional, college and career, and developmental needs of students in grades 6 8 through individual, small-group, and schoolwide servicesCollaborate with students, families, teachers, administrators, school-based service providers, and community providers to identify needs, develop interventions, coordinate services, make appropriate referrals, and promote student successSupport college, career, and civic readiness through career exploration, academic planning, transition activities, and development and maintenance of students My Career and Academic Plans (MyCAP)Support students with transitions into middle school and from middle school to high schoolRespond appropriately to student safety and crisis concernsMaintain accurate, timely, and confidential data and documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and district requirementsParticipate in the ongoing development and evaluation of the comprehensive school counseling program, professional learning, and school and district initiativesServe as case manager for assigned 504 plans, including coordinating meetings, monitoring accommodations, communicating with families and staff, and ensuring implementationProvide counseling, consultation, and other student support services to students with 504 plans and IEPs, as assigned, in collaboration with special education staff and other members of the student support teamOther responsibilities as assigned
