Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Welder Helper to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. In this role, you will assist skilled welders in preparing materials, setting up equipment, and ensuring safety standards are met on busy construction sites and manufacturing facilities. Your energetic approach and eagerness to learn will contribute to efficient project completion while gaining valuable hands-on experience in welding, fabrication, and site operations. Responsibilities
- Assist welders with material handling, positioning, and securing components for welding operations
- Prepare work areas by cleaning, grinding, and setting up tools and equipment such as power tools, hand tools, and plasma cutters
- Support welding processes including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and <LOCATION> welding techniques according to project specifications
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand fabrication requirements and assembly instructions
- Operate rigging equipment, cranes, forklifts, and press brake machines safely to move heavy materials and fabricated parts
- Measure materials using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate cuts and fits
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction site work, welding standards (including ASME codes & standards), and equipment operation
Qualifications
- Prior experience on construction sites or in manufacturing environments is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting, pipe threading, soldering, machining, and schematics reading
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Ability to operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, FCAW processes with a focus on quality workmanship
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication, ductwork installation, pipe fitting, assembly, and sheet metal work
- Experience with rigging techniques involving cranes or forklifts for lifting heavy components safely
- Valid certifications or training in welding techniques or equipment operation is a plus but not mandatory

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
