Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration; report any concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents with eating when necessary
- Utilize patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility and transfers
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being, especially for individuals with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and resident-specific care plans is beneficial
- Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, CPR/First Aid certification, and HIPAA compliance is preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your ability to deliver personalized care
- Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams are essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manage manual handling tasks while maintaining client safety
