Romano Law, PC is a full-service family law and criminal defense firm serving clients across Oregon. We're currently looking for an experienced, full-time paralegal to join our collaborative team. Our main office is located in Portland, and we offer a substantially remote hybrid schedule-typically two days per week in the office and three days remote from home or any location you prefer.

Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in Oregon family law (criminal defense a plus)
Knowledge of Oregon court rules (SLRs, ORCPs, UTCRs)
Proficient with eFiling in Oregon circuit courts
Comfortable with Microsoft Word and PDF management
Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, even under pressure
Able to multi-task and manage competing deadlines
Consistently maintains a professional appearance and demeanor
Self-motivated, efficient, and dependable
Capable of working independently and accepting verbal assignments
Possesses valid driver's license and dependable transportation (for errands)
Oregon Notary (or ability to become one)
Major Duties:
Provide paralegal support to attorneys and lead paralegal
Coordinate with witnesses and expert consultants
Help prepare for trials and hearings
Draft legal documents: pleadings, memos, subpoenas, letters, etc.
Conduct timely research as requested
Maintain records and organize files
Run errands as needed (courts, jails, etc.)
Organize, process, and distribute discovery materials
Work Schedule & Office Setup:
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday (with a flexible 1-hour lunch).
Hybrid format: Two days per week in our Portland office, three days remote from home– or wherever you work best. For remote work, you must have a dependable high-speed internet and a quiet home office with privacy and confidentiality. We can supply virtual branded backgrounds, lighting, and professional webcam equipment. If on the other hand you prefer to work more often from our Portland office, we'll provide a full workstation.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay range: $36/hour - $40/hour, depending on experience
- Health insurance
- IRA with 3% employer match
- Optional Aflac, partially reimbursed
- Quarterly bonus opportunities have been historically available (not guaranteed)
