We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for our Weekend Special position! This is a "Baylor Pay" position of 16 hour shifts on Saturday and Sunday, and pays an "extra" 8 hours to make it full time of 40 hours. The shifts are 7A to 11P both days.

Licensing & Certification Requirements: Hold a current, unencumbered license in Louisiana as a Licensed Practical Nurse; must be registered with the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Practical Nurses.
Education Requirement: Must be a graduate of an accredited educational institution (school of nursing) or a graduate of a state approved school of practical nursing.
Experience: At least one (1) year of experience preferred, but not required as a staff nurse in a long-term care facility.
Special Demands: Must be cooperative, willing to work, and courteous to residents, residents' families, and other staff members.
Job Knowledge: Nursing policies & procedures; administration of medication; federal and state laws and regulations relative to resident care; operate within the scope of Nursing Practice Act; facility policies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care in accordance with nursing facility and nursing service policies and procedures.
Prepare and administer medications according to procedure and be aware of pharmacologic and therapeutic effect.
Record nursing information on residents'' nursing care plans and clinical records, including nursing notes, graphic sheets, medication and treatment records.
Transcribe physician's orders.
Responsible for supervision of nursing assistants working on shift.
Other reasonable job duties as assigned by DON or Administrator.
