Job Summary
We are actively seeking a motivated and skilled CDL Truck Driver / Mechanic to join our dynamic team! Duties
- Operate tractor-trailers and heavy equipment safely across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking brakes, tires, lights, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
- Diagnose issues related to transmissions, suspensions, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and engine performance using schematics and automotive diagnostics
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed for repairs or customization using welding techniques and fabrication tools
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, inspections completed, and parts used
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, or other industrial equipment to support operational needs
Skills
- Proven experience working with heavy trucks and machinery in dealership or industrial settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics and troubleshooting using schematics and diagnostic software
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for repairs and fabrication
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes (including mobile cranes), forklifts, or similar machinery
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, alignment checks, shocks & struts replacement, HVAC systems repair and general automotive repair
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for complex repairs
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when needed
- Physically capable of heavy lifting and performing manual tasks safely in various work environments
