Senior HR Generalist
Denver, CO | Onsite | Full-Time | Compensation: $75,000-$100,000
Position Summary
Scout Security is looking for a driven, tactical Senior HR Generalist to own our people operations from the ground up. As the primary HR point of contact, you'll lead an always-on recruiting engine for our hourly security guard workforce while handling the full spectrum of HR functions — from compliance and payroll to employee relations, to, building high performing teams, culture initiatives and processes. You will be an integral member of our leadership team, partnering closely with operations, client success, and senior leadership to solve people challenges in real time. This role is built for an HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-style environment, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves to execute on operational work, and wants to grow into a senior leadership position as we scale the business.

Objectives & Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for security guard and administrative positions — manage job postings, partner with the internal recruiter on screening, conduct second-round interviews, and make final hiring decisions
- Coordinate with operations on real-time staffing needs, including filling urgent shift call-outs on evenings and weekends to ensure client coverage at all times
- Own onboarding for all new hires — coordinate pre-boarding logistics, documentation, and first-day experience to ensure a smooth transition from offer to start date
- Manage scheduling and timekeeping for hourly employees, including time computation and weekly payroll processing in Gusto
- Serve as HR Business Partner to operations supervisors and office staff — handle employee relations, performance coaching and development conversations and day-to-day people challenges
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal, Colorado state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Build, document, and continuously improve HR processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support a scalable people function
- Support supervisors with people management by providing guidance on coaching conversations, performance documentation, and corrective action
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, client success, and office management on people-related needs and projects
- Own and implement culture, engagement and recognition initiatives
- Administer HR programs including benefits enrollment, 401(k), PTO tracking, and company holiday compliance
- Track and report key recruiting metrics (% to weekly hiring goal, time-to-fill, retention) to leadership to continuously improve hiring outcomes
- Contribute to leadership team discussions on culture, HR strategy, and workforce planning as the company grows

Education & Experience
- 3-5+ years of HR experience, with demonstrated progression from entry-level HR functions through more senior responsibilities
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred
- Payroll processing experience preferred; experience with Gusto is a plus
- Experience recruiting for high-volume hourly/frontline roles strongly preferred
- Experience in a startup or high-growth, scrappy environment strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Colorado employment law and compliance
Compensation & Benefits
- Total Compensation: $75,000-$100,000
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year (exempt, salaried)
Incentive Compensation: $10,000-15,000 per year
- Schedule: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM with a daily 9:00 AM leadership huddle; flexibility required for urgent staffing situations

Physical Requirements
- This role is primarily office-based and requires extended periods of computer and phone work
- Must be able to work from the Scout Security office at 1325 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222
- Occasional evening and weekend availability is required for urgent staffing situations
