Abington Heights Civic League Dance Academy is a well-established nonprofit dance studio with over 75 years of inspiring dancers and building confidence through the arts. As our program continues to grow, we are seeking passionate, dedicated instructors who want to make a lasting impact on students while helping us expand and strengthen our dance community.

Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dance Instructor/Choreographer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about dance education, committed to student development, and excited to contribute to a collaborative studio culture.
Instructors will teach classes, develop engaging lesson plans, provide choreography, and work alongside fellow faculty members to create an outstanding annual recital experience.

We also have a successful and growing Competition Dance Team.
Responsibilities
- Teach dance classes for students of various ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement creative, age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students grow technically and artistically
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Choreograph routines for classes, performances, and the annual recital
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to plan showcases, performances, and studio events
- Stay current with dance education trends and teaching techniques
- Assist in creating and directing our year-end recital alongside other faculty members
Competition Team Opportunities
While not required for all positions, we are actively seeking instructors interested in working with our Competition Dance Team. Experience in competitive dance is a plus and may provide opportunities for:
- Additional choreography assignments
- Expanded teaching responsibilities
- Increased earning potential based on availability and schedule
Qualifications
- Strong background and training in one or more dance disciplines
- Previous teaching and choreography experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively with children, teens, and young adults
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Positive, reliable, and professional attitude
- Competition team experience is a bonus but not required
