About NPA Computers
NPA Computers is a Long Island-based Managed IT Services provider serving government agencies, municipalities, school districts, public safety organizations, and other public-sector clients throughout the Northeast.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Government RFP Research & Proposal Specialist to identify government bidding opportunities, prepare proposal responses, and manage the bid submission process.
This is an in-office position for someone who enjoys research, writing, organization, and working with deadlines.
What You'll DoResearch Government Bid Opportunities
- Search procurement websites daily for new bidding opportunities.
- Monitor platforms including:
- BidNet Direct
- GovSpend
- NYSCR
- Empire State Purchasing Group
- State, county, municipal, and education procurement websites
- Identify opportunities related to:
- Managed IT Services
- Help Desk Services
- Break/Fix Support
- Print Management
- IT Staffing
- Track contract expiration dates and rebid opportunities.
- Maintain a database of active and upcoming opportunities.
Prepare Proposal Responses
- Review RFPs, RFQs, ITBs, and procurement documents.
- Identify proposal requirements and submission deadlines.
- Draft proposal responses, company qualifications, executive summaries, references, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with internal staff to gather technical information and pricing.
- Ensure all required forms, certifications, and attachments are included.
- Assemble and submit complete proposal packages.
Manage the Proposal Process
- Maintain proposal templates.
- Track proposal status and award notifications.
- Maintain organized records of all submissions and contract opportunities.
- Assist with post-award documentation when required.
QualificationsRequired
- Excellent research and internet search skills.
- Strong writing, proofreading, and editing abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred
- Experience identifying and responding to government RFPs, RFQs, or bid opportunities.
- Experience with proposal writing, grant writing, procurement, contract administration, or bid management.
- Familiarity with BidNet Direct, GovSpend, Empire State Purchasing Group, NYSCR portals, or similar procurement platforms.
- Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, school districts, or public-sector organizations.
- Experience in the IT industry, managed services, staffing, or professional services is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
- Consistently identify qualified bidding opportunities.
- Submit 20+ complete proposal responses annually.
- Maintain an accurate pipeline of contract renewals and rebid opportunities.
- Produce professional, compliant proposal submissions that position NPA Computers for success.
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
