Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision and creativity, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, rice cookers, sushi rollers, and other specialized tools
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean, safe working environment at all times
- Assist with food production tasks such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling to support high-volume sushi service
- Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and ensuring consistency across all dishes
- Follow all food safety management protocols and sanitation guidelines to uphold health standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal preparation and excellent food service experience for customers
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary setting, particularly in fine dining or high-volume food production environments
- Familiarity with food industry safety standards, including sanitizing procedures and food handling techniques
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated knife skills and proficiency in cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and food safety management practices is highly desirable
- Prior catering or food service experience will be advantageous for supporting diverse customer needs
- Strong understanding of recipe adherence and quality control in a fast-paced kitchen environment
