Position Details:
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing a sales and marketing plan that includes soliciting new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets via outside sales calls, on-site visits and sales tours, and community networking. This leader will be able to enhance revenue by researching local market trends and competition behavior to discover and close business leads.
Responsibilities:

Targets accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation

Identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business to achieve individual and property revenue goals

Focuses efforts on accounts with significant potential sales revenue

Develops effective sales plans and actions

Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them

Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to maximize revenues and close on business

Handles complex business with significant revenue potential as well as significant customer expectations

Conducting site inspections

Preparing and presenting effective proposals

Maintain well organized documentation and reports

Utilize sales, reservations, and revenue management systems

Develop sales plans and strategies to meet or exceed established revenue and room night goals

Partner with operations and events departments to ensure full participation in servicing guests and clients

Delivers excellent customer service throughout the customer experience and encourages the same from other employees

Oversees the customer experience from sale through the post event phase until turnover back to sales

Coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations

Solicits feedback from the property departments to identify areas for improvement to enhance the guest experience
Qualifications:

A minimum of 3-5 years of hotel sales

Must be proficient in general computer knowledge
