ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a seasonal role for the Summer (July-September 2026). The Licensed Esthetician and Wax Specialist (Sugarista) is responsible for performing sugar waxing, lash lift and tint, eyebrow lamination and tint, educating clients on skin care, driving retail sales of products, and meeting strict sanitation standards. Our estheticians are not just service providers; they are the heart of our brand. We are happy to train you! Every Sugarista is trained to perform at the highest level: ensuring exceptional quality, client retention, and strong earnings potential. As a qualified candidate, you are able to work 3-days (24-30 hours) per week and reliably commute to our Park Slope studio located at 100 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11215.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Perform Waxing Services: Provide high-quality sugar wax services for the face and body, including bikini/Brazilian lines, legs, arms, and back.
- Perform Eyebrow & Lash Services: Lash lift, eyebrow lamination, and tinting.
- Client Education: Advise clients on pre- and post-wax skin care to maximize results and ensure skin health.
- Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized work station, following all health and safety regulations.
- Retail & Sales: Promote and sell skincare products while maintaining retail sales goals. Recommend retail products and cross-sell relevant add-on services.
- Client Retention: Build professional relationships to encourage repeat visits and pre-booking appointments.
- Customer Service: Greet guests professionally and create a comfortable, welcoming experience.
- Studio Upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Inventory Support: Monitor retail and professional supplies daily; proactively notify the Front Desk when items run low to prevent service disruptions.
- License: Active, NY State Esthetician license or Cosmetology license.
- Experience: Previous work experience in waxing, lash lifts, tinting or a fast-paced studio setting is preferred.
- Skill Set: Knowledge of waxing techniques, understanding of skincare fundamentals, eagerness to learn our sugaring technique, sales-oriented with ability to satisfy sales quotas, exceptional customer service, and a professional demeanor.

- Note: Must be comfortable performing full-body sugaring, including Brazilian services. Although most of the clients we serve are female, we also serve male clients.
Qualifications (required):
- License: Active, NY State Esthetician license or Cosmetology license.
- Experience: Previous work experience in waxing, lash lifts, tinting or a fast-paced studio setting is preferred.
- Skill Set: Knowledge of waxing techniques, understanding of skincare fundamentals, eagerness to learn our sugaring technique, sales-oriented with ability to satisfy sales quotas, exceptional customer service, and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work: 3-4 days per week

- Physical Demands: Long periods of standing, frequent walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs
