Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervising MD/ Medical Director - Physician to oversee a pain mgmt house calls company. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with leadership acumen to shape patient care standards, oversee ONE nurse practitioner with 8 years of experience, and uphold compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advancing medical practices, fostering innovation, and improving patient outcomes through effective management and collaboration with the nurse practitioner.
Responsibilities
- **Does not have to reside in the state of TX, but must have a TX medical license and DEA license
- Responsible for reviewing charts and sending/prescribing schedule 2 medications 2-3 times per week. ***We do not write anything greater than Hydrocodone or Percocet 10/325 and no more than 4 pills per day**** No Morphine, Oxycontin, Fentanyl etc is written for these patients elderly and homebound patients
- Patient pop is between 120-175 patients monthly.
- Will oversee one nurse practitioner who provides pain management house calls to homebound and bed bound patients that find it taxing to go to a pain providers office.
- Provide expert medical leadership by developing, implementing, and monitoring clinical policies aligned with industry standards.
- Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) guidelines.
- 100% review of all charts.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws such as DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) regulations, HIPAA privacy rules, and managed care standards. Must possess a Texas DEA license.
- Drive quality improvement programs by analyzing medical records data, implementing best practices in utilization management, and promoting patient safety initiatives.
- Maintain active involvement in treating patients as a physician when necessary to stay connected with frontline clinical practices.
Skills
- Experience in physiatry or pain management required
- Extensive knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management.
- Proven experience in medical management, and healthcare compliance.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical development processes.
- Demonstrated leadership in healthcare settings
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations related to drug approval processes and medical device safety.
- Skilled in teaching or academic leadership roles to foster professional development among staff or trainees.
