Position Summary
Staci Americas is seeking an experienced Hazardous Materials Compliance Manager to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide hazardous materials and dangerous goods compliance program.
This role will ensure the compliant storage, handling, packaging, labeling, transportation, and documentation of hazardous materials across our distribution network. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in hazmat regulations and operational execution within warehousing, logistics, or 3PL environments.
This position partners closely with Operations, Transportation, IT, and clients to support safe, compliant, and scalable hazmat operations across multiple sites. This role is primarily remote with travel based on operational needs, audits, and site support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide hazmat compliance programs across multiple facilities
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, 49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, EPA, and carrier requirements
- Oversee hazardous material classification, storage, segregation, packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements
- Validate hazardous materials data including UN numbers, hazard classes, packing groups, and shipping restrictions
- Develop and maintain hazmat SOPs, work instructions, and operational standards
- Conduct site audits and identify compliance gaps or operational risks
- Investigate hazmat incidents and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Develop and deliver hazmat training and certification programs
- Support onboarding of new hazmat clients and operational readiness initiatives
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve compliance visibility and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain, Logistics, Safety, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hazardous materials compliance experience
- Strong knowledge of DOT / 49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, and hazardous materials shipping requirements
- Experience in warehouse, fulfillment, transportation, or 3PL operations strongly preferred
- Experience supporting multi-site operations preferred
- Strong analytical, auditing, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams
Preferred Certifications
- 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Certification
- IATA Dangerous Goods Certification
- CHMM, CDGP, or equivalent
Travel
10–20% based on audits, training, investigations, and site support.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
