Duties
- Prepare ingredients through precise slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Assist with menu planning by following recipes accurately and ensuring consistency in food presentation.
- Cook a variety of dishes according to established standards, maintaining proper food handling and safety procedures at all times.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment by adhering to strict cleaning schedules and sanitation standards.
- Support the culinary team in meal preparation for service periods and catering events as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a food service environment such as restaurants or catering is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production.
- Strong understanding of food handling protocols, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques.
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members.
- Culinary experience that includes knife skills, slicing techniques, and food industry knowledge is desirable.
