Saint Joseph Catholic School in Petersburg, VA is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Theology Teacher for 5th-8th grade for the 2026-27 school year.
Responsibilities

Teach middle school theology in alignment with the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture, and diocesan curriculum guidelines.

Plan engaging lessons that support student growth in faith, knowledge, and moral formation.

Lead students in daily prayer and support participation in school Masses, liturgies, and devotions.

Assess student learning, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate grades/records.

Collaborate with faculty and staff to strengthen Catholic identity across school life.
Qualifications:

Practicing Catholic with a strong understanding of Church teachings

Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, or a related field

Experience in education preferred

Commitment to nurturing the spiritual and academic growth of all students
