General Role: The Staff Compounding Pharmacist is responsible for the verification of compounded prescriptions and supporting day-to-day pharmacy operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient fulfillment of patient orders. This role functions as a practicing pharmacist within a 503A compounding environment, assisting with oversight of pharmacy processes and staff while ensuring adherence to USP standards, state and federal regulations, and Hillstone Pharmacy policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify compounded prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, dosing, and compliance prior to dispensing
- Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, <800>, state board of pharmacy regulations, and federal requirements
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians and fulfillment staff
- Assist with workflow management to support timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Review formulations, compounding records, and batch documentation as required
- Address prescription clarifications with prescribers and support clinical decision-making
- Participate in quality assurance activities, error prevention, and continuous process improvement
- Support training and competency of fulfillment and compounding staff
- Uphold patient safety, data integrity, and confidentiality at all times
Qualifications:
- PharmD degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy
- Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the primary state of practice
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a minimum of four (4) active state pharmacist licenses as required by pharmacy management
- Experience in a compounding pharmacy environment (503A preferred)
- Working knowledge of USP compounding standards and applicable pharmacy regulations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment
- Effective communication and leadership skills

Pay: $130,000.00 - $142,000.00 per year
