Preferred Qualifications:
- Special Education Certification – Must hold a valid teaching certification in special education, with appropriate endorsements for the grade levels served.
- Knowledge of IEP Development – Ability to create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of each student.
- Collaboration Skills – Must work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students’ needs are met in inclusive settings.
- Behavior Management – Strong skills in managing classroom behavior and implementing positive behavioral support strategies.
- Adaptability – Ability to modify instructional materials and teaching techniques to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Coteaching Skills – Ability to effectively collaborate with general education teachers in a coteaching model to support inclusive instruction and differentiate for diverse learners
- Legal and Ethical Understanding – Thorough understanding of laws and regulations related to special education, including IDEA and Section 504.
