As a Press Brake Technician, you will be instrumental in setting up and operating hydraulic CNC controlled press brakes, ensuring the precise forming of metal components. Your expertise will contribute directly to the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. You will leverage your skills in blueprint reading and CNC programming to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate hydraulic CNC controlled press brakes to form metal components according to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine the appropriate machine settings and tooling requirements.
- Create, edit, and execute CNC programs to achieve desired part dimensions and tolerances.
- Conduct thorough quality checks using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Maintain equipment in optimal condition through regular cleaning, fluid level checks, and reporting of maintenance needs.
- Manage time effectively to meet production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Proactively identify and communicate opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
- Accurately track time and work progress using the E2 management system.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating press brakes in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of metal press forming and basic fabrication techniques.
- Experience with Amada NT & NC9 programming.
- Ability to use various inspection gauges to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Experience with hydraulic press and/or punch operations, including basic setup.
- Familiarity with Lean process methodologies and set-up reduction techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
