Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Consultant specializing in custom window treatments. In this role, you will guide customers through the selection of window treatment solutions that best fit their style, needs, and budget. You will travel to customer homes in a company-provided vehicle to conduct in-home consultations, take precise measurements, prepare estimates, and place orders. This position combines design guidance, sales, and project coordination to deliver an excellent customer experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with customers to understand their design preferences, functional needs, and budget
- Recommend appropriate custom window treatment solutions (blinds, shades, shutters, drapery, etc.)
- Travel to customer homes using a company-provided vehicle for in-home consultations and measurements
- Take accurate window measurements to ensure proper product fit
- Prepare detailed estimates and quotes for customers
- Place and track orders with manufacturers or suppliers
- Follow up with customers to answer questions and close sales
- Maintain accurate records of consultations, measurements, estimates, and orders
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment
- Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after the sale
- When in the office, assist with answering phone calls and greeting walk-in customers.
- When needed, help organize incoming shipping orders in the shop.
Qualifications
- Previous sales experience, preferably in home improvement, interior design, or custom products
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to take precise measurements and manage multiple projects (proper use of
- Comfortable working independently and traveling to customer locations
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Basic computer skills; experience with estimating or order-entry systems is a plus
- Comfortable climbing and working on a step ladder or 6-foot ladder as needed for measurements
- Required: Ability to properly use a tape measure and accurately read measurements
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of custom window treatments or interior design (training provided if needed)
- Ability to close sales and work toward performance-based goals
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
Work Schedule
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
