The mechanic will be responsible for all phases of inspection, DCI, assembly and testing of assigned work on various turbines, compressors, pumps, and reciprocating equipment within the Wellsville service center.
Ensure all work under your responsibility is done safely
Responsible for the quality of the work that you are assigned, zero quality escapes
Responsible for thorough documentation of as received, disassembly, assembly, and testing steps
Receive job assignments from product line lead person
Adherence to shop routers and processes is required
Set up and machine parts on lathes, mills, grinders, and other machine tools
Clean parts using brushes, parts cleaners, and shot blast
Measure parts using micrometers, calipers, and other pertinent measuring tools
Participate in repair path development
Assemble and test equipment
Operate fork trucks, cranes, and other parts movement equipment
Work from blueprints, manuals, and other written and verbal guidelines as needed
This position reports to the Service Center Manager with a responsibility to all employees.
Creative thinker and able to develop solutions while maintaining cost-effective measures.
Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
Approachable and acts with integrity and provides excellent service to all levels of employees and clients.
Strong mechanical aptitude with an Oil & Gas Industry background
Minimum of five years’ experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer by checking in and out with them on jobs. Able to explain the problems and resolutions in a manner that the customer can understand. Closely communicate issues/concerns/updates with account managers on jobs.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks. Help take lead over and teach colleagues.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
