Food Production Worker – Alexandria, VA
Pay: $14/hr Shift: 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Job Summary
Food Production Workers prepare meals using the sous vide method by following recipes, measurements, and safety procedures. (Work is performed in a cold‑temperature production environment.)
Responsibilities
*
Follow all QA, safety, sanitation, GMP, HACCP, and hygiene rules.
*
Inspect raw materials and finished food; report quality issues immediately.
*
Measure, weigh, portion, and season ingredients accurately.
*
Store raw and cooked items properly for the next production step.
*
Operate basic food‑prep equipment (broiler, searing plate, grill, branding machine, oil sprayer, tumbler).
*
Keep ingredient records (weights, counts, scraps).
*
Remove non‑conforming ingredients.
*
Review daily production schedule with supervisor.
*
Maintain a clean, safe work area.
*
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
*
Previous food‑handling or food‑production experience required.
*
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order.
*
Understand weight, volume, and temperature measurements.
*
Basic math skills.
*
English required; Spanish a plus.
Physical Requirements
*
Stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for long periods.
*
Lift up to 30 lbs.
*
Work in cold environments:
*
Production: 45–55°F
*
Coolers: 25–40°F
*
Freezers: as low as –10°F
*
Must safely work around knives, grills, ovens, and hot equipment.
