Job Summary
ALPROEM Engineering Contractors LLC is seeking a qualified Safety Inspector to join our construction project team.
The Safety Inspector will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the company's Occupational Health & Safety Program, identifying and evaluating workplace hazards, and working closely with Project Management to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with applicable OSHA requirements.
Duties
- Implement and monitor the Occupational Health & Safety Program at assigned projects.
- Identify, evaluate, and help control hazards associated with construction activities.
- Prepare and discuss Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Implement and evaluate required safety task assessments (STA).
- Conduct and document routine jobsite safety inspections.
- Perform safety inspections of fall protection equipment, fire extinguishers, ladders, electrical tools, and other safety-related equipment.
- Identify and immediately address unsafe acts or conditions.
- Verify compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct and document weekly Safety Toolbox Talks.
- Maintain accurate and organized safety documentation and recordkeeping.
- Maintain current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and verify proper storage of chemicals and compressed gas cylinders.
- Prepare required daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports.
- Report, document, and assist with the investigation and follow-up of project incidents.
- Coordinate and support employee safety training and orientations.
- Maintain emergency evacuation documentation and other required project safety records.
- Work closely with the Safety Manager, Project Manager, Supervisors, and project personnel to address safety concerns.
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of project-specific safety plans and corrective action plans.
- Participate in project and client meetings as required.
- Ensure proper use and management of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
- Perform other safety-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree, depending on experience level.
- Previous Occupational Health & Safety experience in the construction industry.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification required.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
- Ability to recognize workplace hazards and take appropriate action to correct unsafe conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate safety records, inspections, and reports.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with employees, supervisors, project management, and clients.
- Availability to work schedules that may vary based on project and company needs.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Preferred / Additional Qualifications
Candidates with any of the following qualifications will receive additional consideration:
- OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry.
- OSHA 500 – Trainer Course in OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry.
- OSHA 511 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry.
- Occupational Safety and Health Specialist Certificate in the Construction Industry.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience working on industrial construction projects.

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
