Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic options, following established recipes and standards.
- This is a solo bartender position. The bartender is also responsible for preparing food orders, restocking the bar, serving and completing all barback duties during their shift.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, energetic manner to enhance their experience and promote beverage sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Process cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; handle cash handling and cashiering duties efficiently.
- Develop new beverage recipes and assist in menu updates to keep offerings fresh and appealing.
- Manage bar inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and receiving deliveries to ensure availability of popular items like spirits, craft beers, and fine wines.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff during events such as banquets or catering functions to coordinate food and beverage service seamlessly.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies by checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication to ensure guest safety.
Experience
- Proven experience as a bartender in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment; fine dining experience is highly desirable.
- Hourly rate plus tips.
- Strong knowledge of mixology techniques, spirits, wine varieties, craft beers, and beverage recipe development.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; ability to process transactions accurately.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations professionally.
- Experience in food handling, food safety protocols, and basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Previous bar management or hospitality industry experience is a plus; banquet or catering experience is beneficial.
- Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail in beverage preparation and service.
