Property Insurance Claims Adjuster

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Property Insurance Claims Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and resolve residential and/or commercial property insurance claims. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of property damage, insurance policies, estimating, and claims procedures, along with excellent communication and customer-service skills.
The Claims Adjuster will work directly with policyholders, contractors, restoration companies, and other parties to ensure claims are accurately documented, fairly evaluated, and resolved efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate property insurance claims involving water, fire, wind, hail, storm, and other covered losses.
- Inspect and document property damage through photographs, measurements, reports, and written documentation.
- Review insurance policies and determine coverage and applicable exclusions.
- Prepare accurate damage estimates and evaluate repair/replacement costs.
- Communicate with homeowners, contractors, insurance companies, and other involved parties throughout the claims process.
- Review contractor estimates, invoices, photographs, and supporting documentation.
- Negotiate claim settlements when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate claim files and detailed documentation.
- Identify discrepancies, potential fraud, or questionable claims and escalate when necessary.
- Manage multiple claims while meeting deadlines and service expectations.
- Provide professional, timely, and compassionate customer service.
- Stay current with applicable insurance regulations, industry standards, and estimating practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience handling property insurance claims required
- Knowledge of residential and/or commercial property construction and damage assessment.
- Familiarity with insurance policies, coverage interpretation, and claims procedures.
- Experience with estimating software such as Xactimate is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to inspect damaged properties and work in varying environments.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Required state insurance adjuster license(s), or ability to obtain them, as applicable.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of property claims adjusting experience.
- Experience with catastrophe/storm claims.
- Experience handling residential and/or commercial claims.
- Insurance adjuster licensing and industry certifications.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
