Oak Island Sub Shop is looking for a dependable, friendly, and hardworking team member to join our crew. Whether you have restaurant experience or are looking to learn, we offer a supportive work environment where you can build new skills and grow with us.
As a Sub Shop Team Member, you'll help prepare fresh food, serve customers, keep the shop clean, and work alongside a small, close-knit team to provide a great experience for every guest. If you enjoy staying busy, working with people, and being part of a local business, we'd love to meet you.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, wraps, salads, and other menu items according to our standards.
- Greet customers, take orders, answer questions, and provide friendly customer service.
- Operate the POS system and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Restock ingredients and supplies throughout the day.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including the kitchen, dining room, and prep areas.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work as part of a small team to keep daily operations running smoothly.
- Assist with opening, closing, and other assigned duties as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, dependable, and punctual.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Previous food service or customer service experience is a plus, but not required.
- Experience using a POS system is helpful, but not required.
Schedule
- Part-time
- Approximately 25–35 hours per week available
- Consistent daytime and early evening hours
- Sundays off, with occasional availability for cleaning appreciated
