Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Cook to join our team at Crown Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, a 200-bed Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility located in Cortland, New York. As a Cook with our organization, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional culinary services to our residents. Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation & Service: Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of foods for residents, ensuring high-quality meals.
- Baking: Bake rolls, cookies, cakes, and pies, following recipes and dietary specifications.
- Tray Line Service: Work on the tray line during meal service to ensure residents' meals are served efficiently and accurately.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a clean kitchen, including hand washing and sanitizing pots and pans.
- General Cleaning: Clean kitchen areas and perform related tasks as needed.
Cook Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience in large-scale cooking.
- Leadership: Will manage the kitchen in the absence of the Food Service Director.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to and from the facility.
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform physical work, including lifting and standing for long periods.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Team Player: Should be a strong team player with excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
