Salary: $48,000–52,000 per year (based on experience and qualification)
Position Summary
Wasabi Waukee is seeking a dependable and experienced Front of House Assistant Manager to support daily operations and partner closely with the General Manager. This role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of shifts, leading a team, and maintaining service standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee front-of-house operations during high-volume service
- Lead and support servers, bartenders, hosts, and bussers
- Address guest concerns and ensure positive guest experiences
- Assist with staff scheduling, shift coverage, and attendance management
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of FOH staff
- Monitor bar operations including comps, voids, and basic inventory controls
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and service standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and leadership team
- Step into operational roles as needed to support the team
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant experience required
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to manage a shift independently and make sound decisions
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable, accountable, and team-oriented
