American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a VA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of ICU experience.

Work in the ICU of a 255-bed acute care hospital
-
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Patient ratio of 1:2-3 in the ICU
-
Float within scope to acute care at a 1:4 ratio during times of low census or increased need
-
Uses Meditech charting system (experience preferred)

Active RN license (VA or Compact) required
-
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
-
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; 2 years preferred

Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, and starting/maintaining IVs
-
Respiratory skills required: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, suctioning (ETT, NT), and ventilator management
-
Additional required skills include chronic/acute renal failure management, infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and administration of vasoactive medications

Local candidates are not accepted; must reside 50+ miles from the facility

Candidates who previously worked in a permanent role at this facility within the past 24 months will not be considered

RTO policy is tied to holiday coverage: one holiday in the assignment requires working it, two holidays requires working one, and three holidays requires working two

General RN orientation occurs every other Monday

Zero-tolerance policy for THC, including medical marijuana cards

Drug screening required during compliance and again on day one onsite

Fit testing is required, and candidates must be clean-shaven unless an approved medical exemption is obtained prior to starting

Scrub color requirement is black or Caribbean blue
