We’re looking for a construction leader who knows how to navigate complex projects, lead collaborative projects, and work across departments to deliver at a consistently high level.
The Opportunity
As Vice President of Construction, you’ll help shape and lead WLG’s construction and development team. You’ll guide colleagues and partners to align project execution with development and investment goals, ensuring decisions in the field connect to the company’s broader vision.
You’ll have the authority to make key calls, while partnering closely with acquisitions, finance, development, and operations to turn plans into performance.
What You’ll Do
Construction Leadership
- Lead the continued development of WLG’s construction function with structure, accountability, and clear direction.
- Enhance current roles and systems that support project management, estimating, and field operations.
- Implement existing tools and reporting that drive better insight into cost, schedule, and performance.
- Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, safety, and precision in execution.
Project Oversight
- Partner with contractors and oversee all phases of construction, from early planning through closeout, with a steady focus on quality and long-term value.
- Review budgets, schedules, scopes, and procurement strategies to ensure alignment with goals.
- Maintain direct involvement where decisions impact cost, timing, or performance.
- Uphold high standards of craftsmanship, functionality, and durability across asset types.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Work with finance and acquisitions to strengthen cost forecasting and investment discipline.
- Use data and experience to identify opportunities that improve efficiency and project predictability.
- Provide informed perspective on schedule risk, cost exposure, and major project drivers.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, coach, and retain skilled construction professionals.
- Develop leaders who think strategically, solve problems decisively, and work effectively with others.
- Build a team that executes with confidence, collaboration, and clarity.
Partnership & Risk Management
- Build strong relationships with general contractors, subs, and suppliers.
- Negotiate and manage contracts to balance cost, quality, and reliability.
- Anticipate and mitigate construction risks through practical oversight and communication.
Scaling the Platform
- Prepare construction operations to support WLG’s continued growth.
- Evaluate delivery strategies by asset class and geography to drive performance.
- Strengthen construction’s role as a long-term advantage within the WLG platform.

What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of construction leadership experience, ideally spanning multiple asset types
- Proven ability to lead large-scale projects and teams
- Strong command of field operations, estimating, and financial management
- Confident communicator with sound judgment and integrity
- Comfortable working across both strategic and operational levels

Compensation: $125,000 - $165,000, with performance bonus opportunities (pay based on experience and skills).
