Berkeley County Emergency Medical Service is currently seeking all levels of EMT with National Registry Certification or State Certification eligible for reciprocity in South Carolina while obtaining NREMT EMT and Paramedic Certification. We are a county government EMS system responding exclusively to 911 calls for service. We do not perform scheduled or routine interfacility transports. We responded to approximately 27,000 calls in 2025 with 15 ambulances and 2 supervisors, and 2 paramedic intercepts in QRV's.
We operate both Type I and Type III ambulances equipped with Stryker Power Pro-2 Stretchers and Power Load systems. In addition all units are equipped with Zoll X Series Monitors, Autopulse CPR devices, Zoll AEV Ventilators, Sapphire IV pumps, EZ-IO, Stryker Stair Chairs, Video Laryngoscopy Airway Cameras, and Handtevy Pediatrics Bags.
Berkeley County boasts great hunting and fishing, and is just 30 minutes from the beaches. The area has professional sports including the South Carolina Stingrays Hockey, Charleston Battery Soccer and Charleston Riverdogs Baseball. Football enthusiasts can find a NCAA Division I game at The Citadel or Charleston Southern University.

$54990 - EMT - Advanced
$49877 - EMT-Basic
Two shift patterns: 24 hour shifts and 12 hour shifts (days and nights).
