Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Industrial Cleaner to support daily operations within our industrial ceramics manufacturing facility in Shreve, Ohio. This role is ideal for a professional who takes pride in maintaining cleanliness, enjoys variety in their daily work, and can self-manage tasks effectively. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for employees and visitors alike.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, and other common areas throughout the plant not tied to a specific work center.
- Perform routine cleaning of floors, windows, walls, furniture, machines, equipment, trash, and recycling receptacles.
- Maintain cleaning supply inventory and request replenishment as needed through the supervisor.
- Manage daily tasks independently, ensuring all janitorial duties are completed to the highest standards.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing multiple priorities and cleaning projects.
- Communicate clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Follow all safety protocols when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Ability to follow both written work instructions and verbal directions closely.
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with various cleaning products, tools, and equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and airborne particles.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection).
