Professional Development/Facility Promotion
Position Summary:
Ensures quality care through the process of problem identification and assessment. Identifies issues with patient safety, employee safety, physician liability, facility liability, property damage and theft, and acts to minimize these risks. accreditation regulations and guidelines, as well as established McMinnville Surgery Center policies and procedures. Participates in patient care activities in preoperative, postoperative and intraoperative.
Minimum Requirements:
At least one year of clinical experience and QAPI/Risk Management experience preferred. Fundamental management skills of planning, organizing, facilitating, coordinating, collaborating and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with organizational subordinates, peers and superiors. Strong computer skills including MS Office package, email and time management software.

- Knowledge: Ability to identify and implement opportunities to improve performance of the facility. Ability to promote effective communication within the facility. Knowledge of QAPI, Infection Control and Pharmacy standards, theory and processes. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

- Work Environment: Subject to busy office requiring above average ability to prioritize and organize. Some overtime and travel may be required.

Essential Competencies / Performance Expectations:
- QAPI/Risk Management Coordination
- Oversees QAPI Program.
- Coordinates, plans, documents and implements QI studies.
- Conducts the QAPI Committee meetings. Documents agendas and meeting minutes.
- Measures, audits and analyzes quality reports and information
- Reviews indicator results, incident reports, benchmarking results, pharmacy audits, safety reports, and all other facility QAPI data in preparation for QAPI meetings and other Governing Body/MAC meetings.
- Analyzes and investigates trending of information obtained from the incident reports.
- Assists staff members with retrospective chart audits for completeness of the chart, as well as incidents, which are identified and should be followed up.
- Ensures all required annual reviews are performed, documented and reported to the Governing Body for state, CMS and accrediting body purposes.
- Conducts and oversees the facility’s Risk Management activities.
- Makes recommendations for policy and/or procedure changes resulting from problems identified in QAPI and Risk Management activities.
- Provides inservices, as deemed necessary to keep staff informed of relevant and required regulatory compliance standards.
- Coordination of state, CMS and accrediting body planning and implementation and survey preparedness.
- Demonstrates compliance with the adverse incident reporting system.
- Demonstrates a willingness to look at new ideas and work in a changing environment.
- Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.
Infection Control Coordinator
Facility Management
o Conducts all Medical Staff Credentialing activities, and ensure files are current and compliant.
o Ensure personnel files are current, gathering and filing licenses, certifications, annual education documentation and employee evaluations.
o Maintains Contracts Binder to ensure OIGs are current, and contracts are not expired.
o Maintains Facility Building Binder gathering and organizing all service reports.

- Maintains contacts through periodic interactions including visits, telephone calls, correspondence, seminars and attendance at meetings and social events
