Swafford-Kientzy Machine & Fabrication, Inc. is a family-owned job shop located in Troy, Missouri. We are looking for an experienced, dependable Job Shop Bookkeeper who has previously worked in a manufacturing, construction, industrial, fabrication, or a job shop office environment.
This position is best suited for someone who understands the pace of a small business/job shop office and has personally handled office paperwork tied to production, purchasing, billing, customer orders, and scheduling.
The Job Shop Bookkeeper will assist with daily office operations, bookkeeping support, job paperwork, customer/vendor documentation, and production-related administrative tasks. This person must be highly organized, accurate, dependable, and able to follow through without constant supervision.
The right candidate will have experience working with work orders, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, packing slips, and schedules. This is not a general receptionist position. We need someone who understands how paperwork flows through a shop, construction, industrial, or manufacturing office.
Main Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Create, update, and maintain work orders, purchase orders, and customer invoices.
- Assist with change orders and related documentation.
- Update schedules and communicate changes as needed.
- Maintain organized and accurate job files.
- Assist with basic bookkeeping and office recordkeeping.
- Review paperwork for accuracy before it moves to the next step.
- Communicate with customers, vendors, owners, supervisors, and shop employees.
- Follow up on missing information, paperwork, pricing, and job details.
- Help ensure office paperwork supports production and customer deadlines.
- Perform basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and estimating without relying on a calculator for every step.
Requirements:
- Previous office experience in manufacturing, construction, industrial, fabrication, machine shop, or job shop environment is strongly preferred.
- Must have personally created or updated work orders, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, packing slips, and/or schedules.
- Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to perform basic math and catch errors.
- Must have excellent attendance and be reliable.
- Must have a strong work ethic and willingness to help where needed.
- Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally; Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Must be comfortable working in a small business environment.
- Must have reliable transportation.

Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Office hours: 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
