Medical Receptionist
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent patient service while efficiently managing front-desk responsibilities in a busy medical office.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Answer and route incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility.
- Collect copays, payments, and other required fees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Obtain and process referrals and medical documentation as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, medical assistants, and other office staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Assist with general administrative and clerical duties.
- Keep the reception area organized and welcoming.
- Support the clinical team with additional office duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant (MA) experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to multitask and remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Skills
- Medical Assistant certification or previous MA experience.
- Experience with patient intake and clinical workflows.
- Experience with electronic health record systems.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Schedule & Compensation
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 9 AM - 4 PM / Wednesday: 11:30 AM - 6:30 PM / Friday 6:30 AM - 1:30 PM
- Pay: depending on experience
