Do you love animals and genuinely enjoy helping people? Are you looking for work that feels meaningful at the end of the day?
At Arms of Aloha, we provide in-home hospice care and euthanasia services for companion animals across Oahu. Every day, we have the privilege of helping families through one of the hardest moments they'll experience with a beloved pet. It's emotional work, but it's also incredibly rewarding. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and ready to be part of a small team that truly cares about each other and the families we serve.
This position is a combination of client care, administrative support, and daily operations. You'll be answering phone calls from families who may be experiencing grief or uncertainty, scheduling appointments, responding to emails and text messages, coordinating with our veterinarians, delivering cremated remains back to families, and assisting with the respectful care and handling of deceased patients for aftercare. Some days are busy and fast-paced, while others require patience, empathy, and simply listening. Every interaction matters.
We're looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while working independently. You don't need to know everything about veterinary medicine, but you should be comfortable talking with people during difficult situations and be willing to learn. Experience in a veterinary practice, animal care, counseling, mental health, or another client-focused profession is certainly helpful, but just as important is having a kind heart and a calm presence.
Because this is a mobile practice, you'll need a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on your own or 100 pounds with assistance.
We believe that taking care of our team is just as important as taking care of our clients. We offer competitive pay, HMSA PPO medical and dental insurance, a retirement plan, paid vacation, paid sick leave, six paid holidays, and a schedule that supports a healthy work-life balance.
Arms of Aloha is a small practice, and we intend to keep it that way. We work closely together, support one another, and take pride in the care we provide. Because of that, people tend to stay. In fact, the last time we hired for this position was in 2023, so opportunities to join our team don't come around very often.
If this sounds like a place where you could see yourself making a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and complete the required assessments. Applications will be reviewed as they're received. If you'd like to tell us a little more about yourself, we'd also encourage you to include a cover letter explaining why this position interests you and what you think you would bring to our team.
