Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile ASAP General Labor to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role involves supporting various operational functions, including order picking, materials handling, and equipment operation, to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse processes. Responsibilities
- Assist with order picking using RF scanners and manual methods to fulfill customer requests accurately and efficiently.
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and cranes in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Load and unload shipments safely, ensuring proper handling of materials through manual handling techniques.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying inventory, preparing shipments, and maintaining accurate records within the warehouse management system.
- Handle materials using appropriate mechanical tools, including load & unload procedures with heavy lifting requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist in inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and cycle counts.
- Operate heavy equipment with mechanical knowledge to support construction or warehouse projects as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to heavy equipment operation, manual handling, and warehouse procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, or related roles within a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, forklift operation, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and crane operation.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and manual handling.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving processes and materials handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining proper ergonomic practices.
- Construction or industrial experience is a plus; strong mechanical knowledge is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork within diverse environments.
