Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Coating Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, flooring installation, and surface restoration, with the ability to work efficiently on various projects. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishes in commercial and residential settings. Candidates with experience in blueprint reading, hand tools, power tools, and restoration industry practices will excel in this position. The Floor Coating Installer plays a vital role in delivering durable, aesthetically pleasing flooring solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for coating application by cleaning, sanding, and repairing as needed
- Mix and apply epoxy, polyurethane, or other coating materials using appropriate tools and techniques
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and project plans to ensure accurate installation
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, caulking guns, and other equipment to complete flooring projects
- Perform concrete surface preparation, install decorative flake, resinous, and cementitious coating systems, and execute finishing work to high production and quality standards.
- Maintain safety standards on-site by following proper procedures for handling materials and equipment
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction fields
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking, buffing equipment, and carpentry techniques
- Familiarity with restoration industry practices including water damage restoration and floor care
- Ability to work on construction sites safely while adhering to OSHA guidelines
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent attention to detail for precise application of coatings and finishes
- Prior experience in remodeling or handyman tasks is a plus
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working in various environments
- Valid driver’s license preferred for site travel as needed
- Experience with driving a trailer
