JOB
The City of Palo Alto is seeking a skilled, journey-level Electrician to join the Regional Water Quality Control Plant (RWQCP), where your expertise will help support critical infrastructure that protects public health and the environment. This is an exciting opportunity to perform complex electrical work in an essential, mission-driven operation while contributing to reliable, sustainable services.
Under general supervision, installs, services and maintains all types of electrical systems which includes, but is not limited to, SCADA system, instrumentation systems, motor control centers, machine controls, and chemical feed systems. Provides basic instruction and training and performs other related duties as assigned. Positions may be assigned to perform tasks in the following, but are not limited to, SCADA system, instrumentation systems, and WQCP.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Installs conduit, transformers, conductors, switchboard, and equipment necessary to make additional extensions or alterations in electrical installations for power, motors.

Services repairs, and maintains lighting and power systems, pumps, motors and other various electrical apparatus.

Tests, locates, and repairs malfunctions in electrical circuits.

Services and maintains solid state and electrical mechanical components such as RTUs, instrumentation components, installation of conduit, boxes and cable, lighting, power systems and other various apparatus.

Installs, maintains and repairs electric control panels, MCCs, PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, motors, loop-controllers, electric valve controllers/positioners, hazardous chemical feed and monitoring systems, flow metering systems, SCADA computers, network hardware, and video surveillance systems.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:-
Experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits.

Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

Previous experience working in a wastewater treatment facility.
