Duties Description Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist Department of Motor Vehicle Appeals Board attorneys in reviewing administrative appeals based on Vehicle and Traffic Law and Freedom of Information Law, including:
- Review underlying appeal record including summons, transcript, investigation reports, appellant evidence, crash reports, ALJ decision, and other relevant documents
- Apply Vehicle and Traffic Law to the facts of individual appeals to make recommendations for appeal decisions
- Draft proposed appeal decisions
- Perform legal research
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be currently enrolled as a full-time student at a law school recognized by the New York State Education Department.
Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed workweek and Telecommuting.
