The Digital Service Expert with a focus on Product Management is a senior product manager role responsible for owning a product, service, or significant part of a product.
This position offers a unique opportunity to fundamentally improve how Colorado delivers digital services while ensuring they are truly accessible and beneficial to all residents. Your work will directly impact how millions of Coloradans interact with their government services while supporting Colorado's mission of expanding opportunity and reducing poverty.
In this role, you will set product direction, manage priorities, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes that meet user and organizational needs. You will use research, data, stakeholder input, and delivery constraints to make product decisions and guide continuous improvement.
This role will help shape Sign in with myColorado, Colorado’s shared sign-in and digital account service built around a clear vision: using myColorado as the single account people can use to access state services and prove their identity.
The role may include developing roadmaps, defining success metrics, leading discovery and delivery, aligning stakeholders, and coaching teams or partners in modern product management practices.
Working under the direction of the product lead, this role will own detailed product work for key parts of the service, including user flows, requirements, metrics, iteration, and delivery coordination. As the portfolio grows and priorities evolve, this role may shift to support or own other services or product areas.
Some of the Key Responsibilities:
Own and iterate on detailed product requirements for sign-in, account creation, identity verification, MFA, account recovery, consent, and account management flows.
Translate product strategy and roadmap priorities into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog in partnership with engineering, design, security, operations, and agency teams.
Use analytics, research findings, support trends, and user feedback to identify issues and recommend improvements.
Drive agency adoption and onboarding by clearly articulating the value of Sign in with myColorado, clarifying requirements, validating user journeys, and coordinating launch readiness.
Document product decisions, tradeoffs, risks, and dependencies.
Help ensure Sign in with myColorado is secure, usable, scalable, and sustainable as more services adopt it.
Success in this role requires someone who can navigate complex stakeholder environments independently, translate between technical and non-technical audiences, and build sustainable processes that outlast any single project. You must be highly adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities as we learn what works best for Colorado.
Digital Service Expert is a technical leader with a proven track record in their skill-set of delivering IT products and services.
While all positions will contribute to the entire mission of OIT and CDS, some positions will focus on specific aspects of the mission, such as software engineering, product management, etc.
