Artisan Baker Assistant - Domaselo Bakery
Domaselo is a fast-growing artisan sourdough bakery in South Florida focused on traditional methods, natural fermentation, and uncompromising quality. We produce high volumes of naturally leavened bread daily and are building a world-class bakery team.
We're looking for a reliable, detail-driven Baker Assistant to support our bakers across every stage of production. A core part of this role is prep work - making sure every ingredient, inclusion, and station is measured, staged, and ready so our bakers can produce at full speed. You don't need years of experience, but you do need a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and real pride in doing the job right every time. This is a hands-on role with a clear path to becoming a baker.
What You'll Do
- Prep and stage ingredients ahead of each shift - scaling flour, weighing out inclusions (seeds, olives, cheese, nuts, dried fruit), and preparing soakers and toppings to recipe spec
- Set up mixing stations and mise en place so bakers can move efficiently from mix to bake
- Accurately scale and weigh all ingredients to recipe specifications
- Support our bakers through mixing, dividing, shaping, scoring, and baking
- Help monitor fermentation, proofing, and dough condition under direction
- Keep stations, equipment, and the production floor clean and to food-safety standards
- Follow standard operating procedures and complete batch logs accurately
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
Requirements
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Comfort working with weights and precise measurements
- Willingness to learn the craft of sourdough baking
- Disciplined, quality-driven, and a team player
- Ability to work early mornings and lift 50 lbs
- Bakery or commercial-kitchen experience required
Schedule
- Full-time
- Early morning shifts
- Weekend availability required
Compensation
- $18–$20/hour based on experience and skill level
- Hands-on training and a clear path to advance into a Baker role
