Sales Associate
Job Summary:
Provide customers with a unique shopping experience by utilizing excellent customer service, effective selling techniques and providing in-depth product knowledge in a fast-paced, specialty retail environment. Maintains open lines of communication with Store Manager and Store Owners to ensure a steady flow of information, as well as ensure that required tasks are completed on time and accurately.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Greet and welcome customers to the store with enthusiasm.
Properly answer phone calls and documents messages for further follow-up to customers.
Engage customers in conversation and assist in the understanding, demonstration, description and selection of merchandise.
Explain product features and benefits, while addressing customer needs.
Responsible for continuously verifying products updates, changes in prices or models, and discontinued items or fabrics.
Prepare sales receipts with complete item stock number and description to facilitate transaction to cashier.
Perform and manage baby registries, encourage customers to include good amount of items on the list and verify that the application form is properly completed.
Responsible for clarifying baby registry policies and procedures.
Encourage customers to perform an exclusive baby registry by explaining the benefits.
Suggest additional items while utilizing sales skills to built multiple sales.
Promote the sale of gift cards to be included as an additional baby registry item.
Follow-up prospective customers by calling or sending an email.
Send customers post sales greeting cards.
Keep customers informed of merchandise delays, baby registry out of stock items and any other change in store policies.
Responsible for meeting individual sales and baby registry goals set by the corporate management.
Regularly provide feedback to store manager on customer’s reaction to merchandise, competitor’s information or trends new brands and other general comments from store.
Anticipate and resolve customer service issues.
Receive, count, ticket, package and log stock merchandise as assigned.
Perform physical inventories and areas merchandising.
Maintain displays, floors and warehouse rooms organized through regular cleaning, straightening and dusting.
Perform cashier functions when requested by store manager.
Gift-wrap or package merchandise for customers.
Cash Register duties
Follow dressing policies and consistently use store internal communications devices.
Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements:
Essential physical requirements in store include; standing for long periods of time, frequent bending, climbing and moving of ladders, and lifting boxes and merchandise up to 50 lbs.
