NOW HIRING: Full-Time Canine Coaches
Early Morning–Afternoon Shifts | Leadership & Growth Opportunities
Love dogs, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and looking for a full-time position where you can grow into leadership? Dogtopia is looking for dependable, motivated Canine Coaches who want to build a career with our team, not just pick up a few shifts.
We are specifically looking for full-time employees who can become reliable, consistent members of our core team and quickly develop the skills and confidence needed to take command of our playrooms.
Schedule We're Hiring For
This position is primarily:
- Full-time
- Early morning through mid-afternoon shifts
- Typical shifts begin around 6:00–6:45 AM and end around 4:00–5:00 PM
- Primarily weekdays
- Occasional weekend and holiday availability is required
Consistent availability during these hours is important. We are looking for candidates who want a dependable full-time schedule and can become a key part of our weekday operations.
More Than a Canine Coach
We're looking for people with the potential and desire to grow into leadership roles.
You'll start by learning how to safely and confidently manage our playrooms, but we want our strongest team members to progress quickly toward taking ownership of the room, setting the standard for other Canine Coaches, and helping keep the entire team operating at a high level.
For the right person, growth opportunities can include:
Canine Coach → Playroom Leadership → Rover / Operations Support → Parent-Facing & Leadership Responsibilities
If you're interested in developing your animal-handling skills, learning our business, working with pet parents, and eventually taking on greater responsibility, we want to invest in that growth.
What Training Looks Like
New hires begin with online training completed primarily in-store, followed by approximately 2–3 weeks of hands-on shadowing alongside experienced Canine Coaches and our Canine Coach Trainer.
From there, you'll progress into supervised solo room shifts as your skills develop.
Our goal isn't simply to get you through training. We want you to become fully confident managing dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and play styles so you can eventually take command of a playroom independently and confidently.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and safely manage large groups of dogs in open playrooms
- Learn to confidently take ownership and command of your assigned playroom
- Monitor canine body language, behavior, and play styles
- Maintain a safe, structured, and positive play environment
- Engage dogs through play, enrichment, and positive interaction
- Keep playrooms and facility areas exceptionally clean and sanitized
- Maintain calm, confident energy during busy or challenging situations
- Communicate and work effectively with coaches, leadership, and support staff
- Help maintain the high standard of care our dogs and pet parents expect every day
Who We're Looking For
We're especially interested in candidates who are:
- Looking for consistent, full-time employment
- Available for early morning weekday shifts
- Dependable, punctual, and ready to work when scheduled
- Confident enough to take ownership while still being coachable
- Interested in leadership and advancement
- Comfortable working independently after completing training
- Able to stay calm and make good decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communicators and team players
- Passionate about safety, cleanliness, and excellent animal care
- Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods and lifting 50+ lbs
- Genuinely excited to work with dogs every day
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are REQUIRED.
Punctuality is extremely important in this role. Our dogs and teammates depend on every scheduled employee being here and ready to work on time.
Experience Strongly Preferred
We especially encourage applicants with previous experience in:
- Veterinary clinics or vet tech work
- Kennels or boarding facilities
- Doggy daycares
- Animal handling or training environments
- Team lead, shift lead, or other leadership positions
- Customer-facing or service-oriented roles
Animal-care experience is valuable, but we're equally interested in finding people with the work ethic, reliability, confidence, and leadership potential to become exceptional members of our team.
Important to Know
This is a hands-on, physically active job. You'll be on your feet, cleaning, moving, supervising dogs, and staying engaged throughout your shift.
We're a growing business, and we're looking for people who want to grow with us.
Hours may be reduced during the initial training period while you build the skills necessary to work independently. Team members who excel in training, demonstrate exceptional reliability, take ownership of their responsibilities, and show leadership potential will have opportunities to take on increasingly important roles within our operation.
If you're looking for full-time work, consistent hours, responsibility, and an opportunity to develop into a leader, we'd love to meet you.
