JOB SUMMARY
Grover Surgical Arts is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing / Operating Room Registered Nurse for our QUAD A-accredited, single-operating-room ambulatory surgery center specializing in aesthetic plastic surgery.
Our state-of-the-art surgery center is located within a beautifully appointed plastic surgery practice in Newport Beach and is owned by highly acclaimed, board-certified plastic surgeon Sanjay Grover, MD.
This is a hands-on Director of Nursing position. The successful candidate will serve as the primary RN for most surgical cases, providing pre-operative care, intraoperative circulating nursing care, and post-operative/PACU care.
The Director of Nursing will also oversee nursing operations, ASC compliance, accreditation documentation, and medical staff credentialing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide pre-operative nursing assessment, preparation, and patient education
- Serve as circulating RN during aesthetic plastic surgery procedures
- Provide and oversee post-operative/PACU nursing care
- Coordinate patient care with the surgeon, anesthesiologists, and surgical team
- Maintain QUAD A accreditation documentation and regulatory compliance
- Maintain credentialing files for surgeons and anesthesiologists
- Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement programs
- Maintain infection prevention and emergency preparedness requirements
- Maintain appropriate policies, procedures, logs, and required ASC documentation
- Promote the highest standards of patient safety and quality of care
- Help provide an exceptional and highly personalized patient experience
The Director of Nursing will be the primary nurse for most cases and will frequently work alongside an additional RN during the second portion of the surgical day.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license
- Operating room and/or ambulatory surgery center experience strongly preferred
- Experience with pre-operative, intraoperative/circulating, and post-operative/PACU nursing care
- BLS and ACLS required
- PALS preferred, but not required
- Previous experience with QUAD A, AAAHC, or other ASC accreditation preferred, but not required
- ASC accreditation, compliance, credentialing, or quality improvement experience is helpful
- Plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and assume responsibility for nursing operations and ASC compliance
