JOB SUMMARY:
The infectious diseases (ID) clinical pharmacist specialist serves as the subject matter expert for the pharmacy department and as a core member of the antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) and infectious diseases consultation team. This position provides specialized clinical pharmacy services in antimicrobial pharmacotherapy, collaborating with ID providers, clinical microbiologists, infection preventionists, and multidisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes, reduce antimicrobial resistance, and ensure safe and effective medication delivery. The specialist contributes to education, research, policy development, and continuous process improvement across the medication-use system. Duties of the clinical pharmacist specialist may also include order entry, drug use review, chart review, pharmacokinetic dosing, communicating drug therapy changes to physicians, formulary related activities, presenting drug information to various groups, etc. The clinical pharmacist specialist is responsible for communicating all problems with their direct supervisor in a timely manner.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Current Licensure with Tennessee Board of Pharmacy Required
· Pharm D or Graduate from an Accredited College of Pharmacy Preferred
· 2 Years of Pharmacy Experience Preferred
· 1 Year of Pharmacy Residency Preferred
